On The Day You Were Handed A Folded Flag

Memorial Day is here once again. It is time to pay tribute...FOR SURE ON THIS DAY...IF NOT EVERY SINGLE DAY! I have had this particular Poem buried for a while now...stuck away on a memory stick. I have always wanted to go back...and shape this...

Paddlin' down the Navasota82

Paddlin' down the Navasota

Come along on a somewhat gentle...and somewhat "never-ending" paddling journey with me, MPM. See if there is something more to a water trek along 10-12 miles of a Texas River. See if it is a good thing...to just get out with the trees, the birds, and the riverbank...and just keep paddling and paddling along...to some destination...which is somewhere way up ahead!

Get On Your Mighty Horse...And Ride!

(A Political Poem...Who Really knows what a Poet is trying to say...Exactly...?!?...Anyways...Ha!) For a generation...We have only heard a bunch of song and dance... Time to hear from the Ordinary Guy...Nominate him...Give him a chance. When you can't stomach it no longer....though you've tried...Dear Lord...You've Tried ! Hop up onto that Mighty Horse of yours and...Ride, Dear Lord, Please Ride !

Gold Star Marine Mom Poem79

Gold Star Marine Mom Poem

Do you know my Sadness? Can you see my pain? He stepped up in service to us…and then he took the fall. You have paid tribute to that and have placed his name upon a wall. I thank you for remembering what he did…though… remember this, Before his name was there, I held him tight, and I gave him a kiss.

The World Could Use A Holiday75

The World Could Use A Holiday

We get so "wound-up" for a holiday...that by the time you have the perfect one all planned out...you could drop dead from exhaustion! Let alone...trying to get up at 4am to get in on the action of the "best sale all year". People...slow it down a notch...cool your jets...take a breather...enjoy life. Life is going by fast enough with out hopping on the "super-hype" express train. Trust me...you're still going to have a great holiday...even if you decide to take it down a notch or two. Relax!

Tackle67

Tackle

There's an old saying in the Marine Corp about recruits experiencing boot camp first hand: "We never promised you a rose garden!" Same goes for what a Man has to do with his life. He was given two feet to stand on at birth...after that it is up to him to "Tackle" whatever in the World comes at him. One thing that this "Manly" Poet can surely say is...that I have "Tackled"...Everything...On this Day !

"Battle of San Jacinto" Poem73

"Battle of San Jacinto" Poem

Have you heard the story of the brave men at the famous “Siege of the Alamo”, And, have you ever read the account of those that fought at the "Battle of San Jacinto"? This Poem tells of a fictional accounting from a long ago foot soldier for the "Texian" Army...and shares the history, rumors, and legends of this monumental and decisive battle for Texas...lead by Gen. Sam Houston...to present day fact. Goes a little something like this: "When we heard the Alamo was lost, we were on the run..

USS Bonhomme Richard73

USS Bonhomme Richard

Of all the History that the USS Bonhomme Richard has had out in the open seas...and for all the years that there has been a USS Bonhomme Richard in our History and in our Navy. For all the Sailors, Marines, and Jet Fighter "Flyboys" who have stood on her deck over time...There is one part of her History that stands out for me. That is the fact that my Father served aboard her. Aboard CVA-31.

Your 'ol friend MPM...just happens to be one of those civilian passengers. Come along and join the flight with him and hear about the gracefulness of this magnificent B-24 Liberator...while she is up in the Sky...where she belongs!
